Ringing for You
2 journalers for this copy...
Rescued from the "if it isn't bought right now, it is going in the big dumpster out front" end of bag day at a local used book sale. Currently TBR.
I really wanted to like this book about an over-educated (A Masters in Criminal Punishment?! That WAS a laugh!) twenty-something in London who has to take a receptionist position to pay the bills. It is peppered with little symbols to show the phone ringing and packages coming in... I could sort of see how this bit would be filmed to make an indie-type film. But as the book went on and her love-life got tangled, the rest of the book kind of fell apart. The cutest bit, about a strange & shy co-worker, literally got tacked on to the end. All in all, it was a great premise and a good try, it just didn't quite work for me. I hope to see this author around in the future though. I think she has potential as a writer...
Offered up on CasualReader's BookRelay for "Feeling Crazy". This is definitely office-related and love-related insanity in action!
Arrived in mail today. Thanks. Looks fun.
