Picked up as an unregistered 'leftover' from the May 2011 BC Meetup in York.

I'm *pretty* sure I did read this as a teenager (many moons ago) - but I don't *think* it impressed me much - and since I have no particular urge to re-read it, I'm marking it as 'haven't read' and not allocating a rating to it.

I'm planning to (re)release it at tomorrow evening's appropriately 'Animal'-themed Meetup...

This is one of those books that I have been aware of for a long time, and although I don't really know what it's about it looks like it might be worth a read.

This was a nice short book, I read it in one sitting. There seemed to be as many pages of photographs as there were of text.
It's a fable about a Seagull named Jonathan who rebels against seagull society by learning to fly really fast, rather than spending all his time looking for food and eating. He also dies and goes to seagull heaven, but then he comes back to life and goes back to his old seagull friends to teach them all to fly like him.
The message of the book is basically follow your dreams, and don't just do what society expects of you. I don't think it is as deep and meaningful as it would like you to think it is.

Released 11 yrs ago (2/13/2013 UTC) at Buddhist Centre, Kilnwick Percy in Pocklington, East Yorkshire United Kingdom

I left this book on a table in the World Peace Cafe at the Madhyamaka Buddhist Centre in Kilnwick Percy.
