I picked this up from the bookswap table at the unconvention in Nottingham. I shall add this to my 'to Be Read' pile (which only consists of the ~15 books I got at the uncon), and look forward to reading it shortly.

I really enjoyed Waves. It's a well-written fascinating story for young adults. It explores the 'coming of age' theme through a summer of long, hot days by the sea and first love relationships, but much, much more. We see a very strong brother-sister bond between the main characters Hal and Charley. While their connection - and ability to communicate despite being hundreds of miles apart - may be hard to believe for some readers, I think it is natural to them because they are best friends.

The story flows along gently and the descriptions of young love and angst are beautifully written.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

Taken by my son's girlfriend. She was bold enough to express interest in bookcrossing when I mentioned going to the convention in Dublin next week and she was given a whistle-stop verbal introduction to bookcrossing. I offered all my 'Available' books to her and she choose this and one other.

She promises to log into Bookcrossing when she is finished and may join.
