Over 2000 books, and I pick one from 6of8. What are the odds? Pretty good actually, since we have similar tastes. I've read other book(s) with Molly Murphy, but it must have been a while ago because I don't remember reading this one. Time for a refresher.
I did read this years ago, and it stood up well to a re-reading. While I'm no historical expert, Rhys Bowen gets the reader into the nitty-gritty of life at the turn of the last century. The fire in the garment factory is very reminiscent of the Triangle Shirtwaist Fire which cost 146 lives, because the doors were locked to prevent theft. Sadly, the Triangle Fire was not the first, although it was the most deadly.
If I remember correctly, the library has the first two books of the series. I'll have to look them up.
