Night She Died, The
2 journalers for this copy...
At the library book sale they had some bundles of books from different mystery series' (2-8 books, depending) for $.50. How could I resist? This series sounded like one I might enjoy, so I picked up a couple of bundles because the price was right.
Murder Most British -- Det. Insp. wonders how a woman who had only been in the area for 6 weeks had already been knifed in the chest -- who could have had the time to know her well enough to hate her?

I really like this series and enjoyed this installment despite the issues raised by the red herring in the middle of it. I enjoyed seeing the progression of the partnership between Thanet and Lineham and the glimpse of the Thanet children when they were young. Thanet's approach to crime is so common-sense and so methodical, without the miraculous discovery of just the right clue at just the right time, that you can't help but feel this is how it really is for a lot of cops.

Arrived safely! I've read one other in this series so I'm looking forward to reading this.
I enjoyed this installment in the Inspector Thanet series. I am looking forward to reading more and seeing how the working relationship between him and his assistant develops.
