I love the idea behind Wicked: The Wonderful Wizard of Oz from the point of view of the Wicked Witch of the West. The novel covers the witch's childhood (when it's not easy being green) and her relationship with Glinda the Good (who isn't as good as you'd think).
Definitely a great idea.
Unfortunately, not a great book for me. I found it a bit dull. Possibly it's better as a 2-hour musical than as a 500-page novel? Or, possibly, I'm just not its perfect reader.
