Death at Wentwater Court (Daisy Dalrymple Mysteries, No. 1)

First in series.
Enjoyed this British mystery. Set in the 1920's, an interesting theme was whether proper young women should be working for a living if they don't have to. Daisy Dalrymple, the journalist/photographer who has come to Wentwater Court to write an article about the country estate, meets with some disdain from an old friend who finds it shameful that she should be working.
The mystery itself is quite interesting - an unpleasant and unwanted guest is found floating in a hole in the skating pond ice. Did he cut himself on the ice or did it happen earlier? Did he die in the pond at all or was he brought there after his death? Partly because she can record the suspect interviews in shorthand, Daisy will help the local investigator with his work to unravel the mystery. [There's also a little love interest there; will have to read the next book in the series to see if anything develops :-)]

Sent off to Annimanni in Finland via the Wishlist-Tag Game. Hope you enjoy it!
It arrived! Today :) Thank you so much, not only for the book but also for the tea and the delicious chocolate, which is all gone already I'm afraid...
This was a delightful read indeed. I can't say whether the dialogue was authentic, but at least it was very enjoyable. I definitely want to get my hands on the next book in the series to see how the love interest develops :)
Off to Germany next. Happy travels!
Received today. Thanks much Annimanni!
