"Every farmer, every laborer, every fisherman can both read and write — and we think that books instead of being locked up in cupboards, far from the sight of students, should be distributed as widely as possible. The books of our library are therefore
passed from hand to hand without returning to the library shelves perhaps for years."
Thank you to the generous and gracious Hellenic BookCrossers who were kind enough to meet me and share a drink and delicious food. It was a pleasure of the highest order to meet again some of those who were responsible for the efficient running of last year's anniversary convention.
I look forward to meeting any BookCrosser who makes it to Canberra, and repaying the charming hospitality as best I can.
And next time I return to Athens - probably August 2019 - I shall be sure to make the regular BookCrossing meet up.
