I would like to encourage the BookCrossing software team to come up with a solution sooner rather than later.
There are a number of calls for glitch fixes right now, infact there is a lot across this forum - Bugs and Broken Bits Reporting - and also the Feature Requests forum.
I respectfully echo my recent comments in other threads that those BCers posting demands for fixes and calls to HQ for updates/timelines on fixes, I would like to encourage them to show the courtesy of the most basic sign of supporting the site - ie appearing with wings.
Nothing happens for free and there are ALOT of none flying members calling for things to be done. If the site isn't financially supported, how it is supposed to survive, never mind keep up with software fixes or glitches of its own as well as those resulting from 3rd parties such as Amazon making changes that no longer sync with BC.
On a side note, hasn't Moem already explained that this is a result of an Amazon change, not a BC glitch?
No, as the feature was broken by changes made by Amazon, and BC has no control over that.
Simple work around - from someone who had to do this for almost every single book I registered post 2017 when I was buying books in Australia, and there was no Amazon in Australia - simply register the book with no cover and then upload it manually using the "Can't find cover?" option where you can upload the correct image that you have saved as a JPEG by right clicking on the book cover image on Amazon.ca.
Yes it is a pain, but basically how it has always been for any BCers outside of USA, Canada and UK.
