Post your December 2018 reads and releases here. Please include the points for the post and your total points so far.

This challenge is for readers and/or releasers. Join in at any time! The themes and guidelines can be found here: http://www.bookcrossing.com/forum/23/548408.

Each book can earn up to three points:

Read = 1 point. All books count, including registered books, audiobooks, e-books, library books and non-registered books.

Release = 1 point. Books must be registered. Both wild and controlled releases count and you can count releases from other challenges.

Theme = 1 point. If the book you read and/or release fits the monthly theme, you get another point. Each book can receive a theme point only once. Embedded words are allowed, and theme words can occur in the title or in the author’s name.

December: Light and dark—words related to light and darkness, including adjectives and sources of light and dark (e.g., bright, shine, shade, blind, white, black, day, night, lamp).

Examples: The Night She Died, Rise and Shine, A Star Called Henry

Be creative, and if you have any questions, please post here or pm me. If I haven't answered your question in the thread, please do pm me. I don't get to check the forum very often.

And thanks to solittletime for the gentle reminder. My mom passed away in late October and November seemed to just disappear as I took care of funeral arrangements and started wrapping up her affairs.

No worries!!! 😉
My mom passed away in late October and November seemed to just disappear as I took care of funeral arrangements and started wrapping up her affairs.
In my experience, that is the way it always seems to go, jumpingin...
BIG HUGS and LOTS OF LOVE TO YOU!!! ❤❌⭕❤
Might you PM me with your address when you have a moment? 😊

Just want to see whether there is interest in keeping this challenge going for another year. If anyone would like to organize it, I would be happy to hand over the reins, but I am also fine with organizing for another year.

If you have any themes you'd love to see, please post them!

Yes, please! I enjoy it a lot even though I use it only for releases for your monthly theme, not for books I read or other releases.

I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom. My condolences. Take care.

It would be great to keep this challenge going, and if you are willing to host again that is good too. I am very sorry to hear of the loss of your Mom. (((Hugs))) to you and your family.

While I DO LOVE this Challenge of yours, jumpingin...I fell WAY behind in posting this year and would certainly not be a good candidate for taking it on at this time. 😊 I don't recall if you've ever used a "Soap" related theme, but I am running zbird's 4th Annual CLEAN START for the NEW YEAR during January again this year. There's a long list compiled from zbird's original and participant input over the past few years, if that would be a source of inspiration for a good theme for you. 😉 https://www.bookcrossing.com/---/557293

Where did the time go? I'm sure it's a bittersweet new year for you, jumpin. Very sorry to hear about the loss of your mother.
I'm going to post my updates for the previous months in this thread so that all the old monthly threads aren't all bumped back up to the top of the forum. I'm sure I'm not the only one trying to catch up at the end of the year and presume other people won't appreciate wading through 8 ultimate challenge threads to find whichever challenges they want to post in. Every year I start off the year sorting out my books for the new themes and promising to post monthly. It rarely happens, but I try to read according to the themes and I'm intrigued to see how many points I managed, purely for my own amusement. I saw you'd posted the new themes and can't wait to rearrange my shelves.

I haven't posted my stats for months either, so no hard feelings here! Life got in the way of reading and posting in 2018. My goal for 2019 is to get the monthly thread posted on time so that solittletime doesn't have to send me reminders! :)
