[Thanks to solittletime for the nudge; I'd forgotten I'd done this challenge last year!]
I'm feeling a bit short of themed release challenges just at the moment, and while there will be some coming up soon - I'll be offering another Great Backyard Bird Count challenge in February and a Wine+Food challenge in late Feb./early March - I thought I'd offer a simple "New Year resolution"-themed challenge this month, for:
No need to sign up, just post your releases. Any kind of release will count. Can include books you found helpful as well as those that you did not. Might be a good opportunity to cull any no-longer-used books from the keeper shelves, too - I know I have quite a few lying around...
I'll accept any explicitly self-improving books - diets, how-to-quit-smoking, exercise books, improve-yourself philosophies - as well as memoirs (facetious or otherwise) on self-improvement methods, such as A. A. Jacobs' delightful Drop Dead Healthy ( http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/12636017
And, because it's a New Year challenge, books about New Year or with "New Year" in the title count too, even if they aren't explicitly self-help books. [Holiday-themed mysteries set at New Year's would count, for example.] This is an expansion over last year's challenge, in hopes of finding more candidates for release.
I'll offer a prize for the most releases, and another randomly-chosen winner.
