52 towns in 52 weeks challenge 2015

"The world is a book, and those who do not travel, read only one page."

(I don't feel very creative at the moment, so I'll just copy last year's text for now. Most important is that the thread is up in time, isn't it?)

Bookcrossing is about letting books travel. Travel with books, travel for books. Make this a world of travelling books.
Go where you never went before, and find the surprises waiting there for you. Leave a book to be the next visitors surprise.

What's this challenge?

The goal of this challenge is to release books in at least 52 different towns throughout the year 2015. This is an average of one per week, but doesn't need to be one each week.
You're welcome to join also if you're sure you won't make the 52 - just try and make it as many as possible.

Some rules...

* You can join the challenge at any time, and also count books you released before joining as long as they were released in 2015.
* Wild, OBCZ and geocache releases count.
* Controlled releases and meetup handovers do not count.
* Public transport vehicles can't usually be assigned to one town because the vehicle will leave the city limits. They don't count, then. Just release another book at the station and you're fine ;)
* You need to release the books yourself at the place in question. You cannot release a book "to" some place, but only "at" some place. It's always the place where the book leaves YOUR hand which counts.
* Geocaches count for the town where the box lies, also if the listing coordinates are somewhere else.
* Of course you can visit the same places as in previous years again. New year, new challenge.
* Please include at least the following in your posts: Sequential number, country, state/province/region and name of the town, and a link to the books journal.
* Please post only one release for each town. If you release more than one book, choose one freely.
* Report as many releases as available in one posting, but don't add new towns by editing old postings because people won't notice there's something new then.
* If you like, you may also track catches.
* You're welcome to explore the release spot surroundings and report about your adventures along with the release.

I'm in :)

don't know if I can make 52 but going to give it a go

Okay, I took a road trip and wild released a novel in Lathrop... It was picked up by an anonymous finder and journalled before I could make wild release notes!!

Here is a link to the journal entry though to prove it was released/found:

Me too.
I'll join again but I see lots of traveling in my future so maybe some new cities too.

I try this challenge again this year. I'll be travelling a bit more than I did last year so I'll hopefully have more release towns!

I don't anticipate the same kind of travel in 2015, since 2014 was a pretty big and crazy year around here... but I am in anyway!

I started things off within the first hour again this year...

We decided to leave this book, about a half-mermaid, in New Jersey on our way home from New York because NJ is one of the seaside states.

When I went to journal this release, New Milford was on the towns list, but it had no crossing zones! Strange :-s Oh well, anyway, here is number three-- released on our first weekly date of the new year!

One last USA release for this trip-- then I ran out of books (that I had with me), so no Canadian releases so far! Oh well, most of the rest probably will be Canadian ones anyway!

All in Minnesota, USA unless otherwise noted.

1. New Brighton

I rarely leave my city limits, so when I do travel, I will be busy. But I love releasing in different places and want to try!

#1. Anaheim, CA. USA http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/11785569

I did so much better in 2012 and 2013 (though I still didn't complete the Challenge) than I did last year - last year I didn't even come close :-( Giving it another go this year, and my first release was at Disneyland!

With two challenges of 52 books in 52 weeks. This one, and one on the Dutch forum: (jan thread: http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/515217 )

To avoid releasing the same books for both challenges I try to do double releases, joining the pick a pair challenge at the same time.

First two for this challenge:

Let's see how many releases I will manage in different places. As my son is only two years old, not too many places far from home. But as overseas is exciting for me to see, someone else may enjoy Ausria. Will try to have photos added.

I started slow this year. First town was my home town, followed by a single neighbouring one. On the traditional Heidelberg trip I mostly stayed at Heidelberg and didn't go out into the surroundings, also I used a direct bus this time and didn't do any stopovers.

First one of the year in my own country!

I seem to be on a bit of a bio kick right now-- the last few books I read in 2014 were Three Cups of Tea; Eat, Pray, Love; and a semi-autobiographical Canadian novel called The Jade Peony. The first few I read in 2015 were short biographical works on Laura Secord, Marilyn Bell, and Alexander Graham Bell-- all part of a Canadian series called Amazing Stories.

Anyway, I've released the first one of those three Amazing Stories titles. I left "Alexander Graham Bell: The Spirit of Invention" in one of my neighbouring cities, Brantford, which happens to be where Bell was when he came up with the idea of the telephone. I left it at a statue of him. http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/13107915
