How about a challenge to release childrens books in places where kids will find them, I read that in the UK less and less people are reading with their kids and some children have no access to books at all. My own daughter has always had books and I loved reading to her. Maybe we could help people and children find that joy again.

We could tag each book or add a book mark (so easy to make at home) with

"A book is a gift you can open again and again – Garrison Keillor " (or not if you don't have time LOL)

Anyone up for playing?

I shall start this evening on the way home from work, with some Charlie and Lola

I've just received a whole bunch of children's books, so yes, I'm up for it.
I'll try and find a Dutch quote that's suitable for this.

perfect! Thank you! I think when reading starts young it's more likey to continue :-)

I received children's book from the same source I think :). And I love to join this challenge!

If you find a Dutch quote, please share, I will look for one as well.

Yes and no. I've been given a whole bunch of children's books by a local charity shop as well. And I was thinking what I could do with them, so this challenge is great!

Hi hi...... I have, and I hand them out to children who are shopping with Mom or I leave them on the childseat of Mom's bicylcle (of which there are enough in our country :-) )

How cute to leave them in bicycles!

Me!

I will go through the kids books tonight and see what is suitable.

Great - I will try and remember to take pictures of my releases too!

This morning I released http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/12675114/ in a playgroound but failed miserably to take a picture! Must try harder

I am going through a spate of releasing childrens books (little Miss ones) and am getting good catches.

Yes I find kids and parents like to get involved, do share your releases here! Sheepette.

With photo this time! Left on a piece of playground equipment in Cowfold http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/12675077 Charlie and Lola!

I'm excited to report, my second release was not only found and journalled, but it's been released, found and journalled again!

I left this one on the bench of a playground, I made a photo, but I have a problem uploading it. I hope I manage it somewhere this weekend.

Nr. 7 http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/12677449/

Nr. 8 http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/12677444/

Nr. 10 http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/12677442/

Nr. 11 http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/12677443/

I don't have a picture of nr. 10. I was in a shop to release it on a car you can put money in to make it move, when I saw a mother with a totler (about 1 years old, I guess) and I asked her if she wanted the book. She was so happy, she kept thanking me, telling how nice this was :). But I don't want to post pictures of other people.

Thanks for playing!

Lovely pic!

I often leave books at playgrounds, but these are the first since this challenge began:

1. Anno's Journey ( http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/12629325 ), with photo.

2. Life Doesn't Frighten Me ( http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/12680182 ), with photo.

I got a nice catch on Anno's Journey ( http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/12629325/ ), which is on its way to the seacoast now!

1. Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss, http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/12662409/

Started releasing books for children a few years ago, and even created a 'BookCrossing List' against a website featuring playgrounds in Australia (http://www.bookcrossing.com/forum/33/475931/).

http://www.playgroundfinder.com

Perhaps there are similar resources in other countries ?

I'm in.

Thank you for this release challenge.

Hey Diddle, Diddle - http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/12796716

I always release a lot of childrens books and try to find release spots where they will be found by kids. Living in norway english is not a problem but even if I love the labels for kids in the supply store I decided to make my own labels in norwegian for the children books.

Will post my releases here soon.

Found not long after release. I cannot believe I still get so excited when a book is found - more so when it's by a child.
