New THREAD! ~~FEBRUARY Stats~~ Reduce Mount TBR Challenge 2011

* * * ATTENTION! * * * Due to new format, please post your month's entries in this manner:

List *YOUR NAME* and *GOAL* as the title of your thread, and INSIDE THE POST list the number, title and author of your TBR book that you finished! Edit that original post to add books as the month progresses! (Follow my lead!)

~~~~~~~~~ ALSO: ~~~~~~~~~~
When you have met your goal, you have accomplished your challenge for the year! We won't be making up new goals through the year. That's just *TOO* confusing. Thank you for carefully considering your goals at the beginning of the challenge!
~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~

Quick Review (There will not be a quiz!)

Any book counts, as long as you INTENDED to read it before January 2010. This includes books on hand (As some have pointed out, they may not be registered, but we're on the honor system, OK?) bookrings you've signed up for, bookrays & books from bookboxes you signed up for, even trades you arranged prior to the challenge beginning. Not new purchases, trades, etc AFTER January 1. That would be books ADDED to your pile. We want to REDUCE the piles we have on hand NOW!

~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~ Note! Note! ~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~
I can't commit to keeping a webpage and doing monthly PMs and prizes, but what we CAN do is this. ...
1. Everyone who participates will get a book mark at the end of the year.
* * * AND * * *
2. We'll put the name of everyone who met their goal in a bowl and pick two winners at the end of the year.
Sound like fun?
~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~ (Our Theme!) ~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~

A Little Ditty Just for Us! By Arnold Lobel. ...
Books to the ceiling!
Books to the sky!
My pile of books is a mile high!
How I love them!
How I need them!
I'll have a long beard by the time I read them!

I just finished:

#5 Case Histories by Kate Atkinson

I'm not sure exactly how long it's been on my TBR because I just realized it's not registered. But I know it's been on there for a couple of years. It started out pretty good, but then I just lost interest. I didn't like how certain things turned out and I didn't like the loose ends. I think I was expecting a lot more after reading a bunch of rave reviews.

#6 Heart-Shaped Box by Joe Hill

I'm not sure how long this has been on my TBR because it is also not registered. It was ok - not as scary as his dad's books!

#7 Borderline by Nevada Barr

I'm realizing that a lot of my books are not registered. Maybe I should check all of them before I continue because I may be able to increase my goal. Anyway - I just finished this book that has been on my TBR pile for more than a year. It was pretty exciting. Although I did not know about some of the events that were referred to several times because I did not read the previous book. I've been reading this series hodge podge - a book here and there. I should really go to the beginning and read them in order because it really seems like a good series.

#8 Cut and Run by Ridley Pearson

This has been on my BookCrosssing TBR since July 2007. It was a quick easy read.

#7: Een kat in Zuid-Frankrijk (A Cat Abroad) - Peter Gethers. On TBR since October 2009.
#8: Een wolf in schaapskleren (Loose among the lambs) - Jay Brandon. On TBR since September 2008.
