Start saving your books for this fun and easy new challenge!

The concept of the "One Word" Challenge is to release books with a "one word" title. Sound easy? The OW Challenge will begin August 1st and run thru the end of the month. Let's see how many books with a "one word" title we can release!

This idea came to me while reading Sail by James Patterson. Books with just a one word title will count. No numbers, such as George Orwell's 1984. Books such as Sweetheart and Sandcastles are allowed since they are still just one word. Got it??

Since my birthday is in August, I will give a few prizes to randomly selected members who happen to release a book on my birthday! Wild releases and controlled releases will count too!

Let's have fun with this OW challenge!! Start saving books-August will be here before we know it!

I'm in!

It's for all releases!! I'm not computer savvy enough to make a fancy spread sheet with the list of releases and catches like some other bookcrossers have done, sorry! We can all just list our releases. Simple!

I know I have at least one ;)

This is going to be my first ever release challenge I;m excited nearly my WHOLE shelf are one word books!

I'm in too!
I have one book and know I can come up with more by August.

I like that this challenge has so much lead time to accumulate books. Some of us need all of the help we can get! This challenge makes the visits to the thrift stores and yard sales more interesting.

Perhaps only one book, I'll start searching now.

I've found a lot of books with "one word" title and have a hard time to read them all. Thanks for the Challenge, 300dogs!

my daughters birthday is in august - count me in! am on the look out for sutiable titles as of now!

Would this book work? Waiting: A Novel

Thanks!

It's still a one word title. The "a novel" I wouldn't consider to be part of the title. Put that one aside for August!!

THANK YOU!!!! I have a few like this.

Sneaks: A Dearborn V. Pinch Mystery

and

Starcraft: Prima's Official Strategy Guide

Thanks again!

Please let me know about these two when you have a chance. Thanks!

sure. As long as there is still a "one word" before the colon--no problem.

challenge.

I'm already in two challenges this year in an attempt to get my books out of the bookcases and Rubbermaid containers they currently live in and into the world... :) This one will help even more!

OK!
I haven't done a challenge in a while and this gives a lot of lead time. I'm going to give it a try.

I made the mistake of going to my local library yesterday & they're closing for a while for repairs so are selling off books...yes, you've guessed it I've bought loads for this challenge but the trouble is as I'm registering them I've noticed they all sound so good I'll HAVE to read them...looks like the housework is on hold (again)...

August 1st will be here before we know it!!

> August 1st will be here before we know
> it!!

I started making a list of my one-word TBRs the other day...this challenge will solve any "what will I read next" issues this summer! :)

glad I can help!!!

putting housework on hold to read is acceptable.

> putting housework on hold to read is
> acceptable.

I so agree :D

I'd like to join in also please:)

any form of release is welcome!!

this is my kind of challenge as I enjoy controlled releases to other BCers and friends.

I thought likely that they would be, but wanted to check. If not, no problem.

I'm drawing a blank...I need an example, please!
