Pick-A-Pair Challenge

In this challenge, similar, opposite or related words from two book titles should be paired and released together.

For example:
Robert B. Parker's "GOD Save the Child" with T.S. Eliot's "Murder in the CATHEDRAL".

I urge you to be very creative. Animals, elements of nature, colors, sport, religion, whatever jumps out at you. If you're really on the ball, perhaps the release point could factor into the theme, too.

Books should be left together, perhaps with a rubber band or ribbon around them, to signify a double-release.

we'll have more opportunity to snap up good bargains, read and release when we have the chance.

I've created a tag template showing, what else, two pears! I plan to tie the books together with green ribbon and attach the little tag with an explanation on reverse, so it looks like a present.

If you'd like to use it too, it's the current user picture on my shelf. Just right click to save to your own computer.

I got two books with the theme of private eye/detective that I'll be releasing as soon as I'm done reading the second. Sounds like fun. :D

Thanks for the pear tag! I've d/l'd it and printed it out in different sizes. Just have to decide which one I'm going to use. The first one came out huge, so I had to down-size it. ;o)

I've got "the Cowboy" by Joan Johnston and
I'll "pear" it with "the Horse Whisperer" by Nicholas Evans. I'll have to come up with some good western-bar to release them in!

I have found BURIAL by Graham Masterton to release with MORE WORK FOR THE UNDERTAKER by Margery Allingham. Shall I add a copy I have of A VINTAGE YEAR FOR DYING by Frank Orenstein and make it a threesome?
Profile Image
LOL. You could have a three-some (shades eyes) or reserve the third for a Year/Day coupling.. it's all up to you!
Profile Image
I have to go check my books, but it DOES sound like fun! There must be two books in my stash I could use...or I'll find some. Count me in, too.

Hope someone catches them and gets the idea.

Oh, I wish I would've visited the Release Challenges sooner! Last month, I was at Goodwill and saw a pair that just cracked me up. They went together so well that I set them with the titles facing out in front of the other books on the shelf.
I'm going to have to go back and see if they are still available. The books--"Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Liar" and "See, I Told You So!"
Profile Image
Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keys
Plants Are Like People by Jerry Baker

Now, all I have to do is decide where to release them. We are supposed to have a beautiful weekend, so maybe I'll release at one of the local nurseries.

I released "Have His CARCASS" and "Lord Peter Views the BODY"

Sorry I don't know how to make a journal link....perhaps someone can tell me how.
Profile Image
It's easy, don't worry.

For the book you'd like to do, you click on number of journalers. This will bring up the web address at the top of your browswer. It should look like this-

http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/3154283

Copy that, and paste it into your next post.

A very simple way to do it (that I use when I remember) is .. when you've made the release note, the little www. ..etc.. will say "Releasedone" at the end of it. You can copy that and paste that, too, and that will work.

They both start with the discovery of a long-buried skeleton, and tell two interwoven stories - one from long-ago, leading up to the death, and the other from the time it was discovered.

Both are also being released for the <a href="http://bookcrossing.com/forum/23/3878004/Tick-Tock-Challenge-2006!---Post-releases-here">Tick Tock Challenge</a> and <a href="http://www.bookcrossing.com/forum/23/3841026/32"> "This would have been perfect for ...."</a> because both would also have worked for the "Never Judge a book by its cover" - Tree week, and also the Canada Day Challenge, but I hadn't read them then.
