So on Friday 1st July your mission does start for one sunset only. Youll have a chance to release some books about World War One where ever you can. It doesn't matter how loosely based the book is even if it's just in the title, well if it comes down to that

Please make sure that you your release note has the correct day and don't forget to post your links here

On this day 100 years ago the battle of the Somme World War One started. It was the largest and bloodiest battle, more than one million people were wounded or killed. So in memory of the people that died no mater what side they were on. I would like to put an SSM up to release some books on this tragic event

A little early. Book has a chapter on World War/left at the War Memorial near our town park.

Cool :)

Book one: A nurse at the front line: the First World War diary of Edith Appleton

Book two: Dorotheas war: A First World War nurse tells her story

Book three: over the line by Tom Palmer

Even before I knew about the theme for this SSM I had two books about WWI picked to read in June. They are both on the 1001 Books to read Before you Die list as well. I thought I would release them together outside a home for army, navy and airforce veterans called Anavet Lodge.
WWI from the point of view of an English combatant:
The Ghost Road by Pat Barker

WWI from the point of view of a German combatant:
All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque

Thanks. This was fun.

Released on time. Posted late. Proof of Guilt: An Inspector Ian Rutledge Mystery by Charles Todd

The book begins with the bombardment by German U-boats of Funchal Harbor, Madeira in December, 1916.
