Thank you! I have fixed the link.

Because of the price of postage, the book box is US only.

BUT we have done an "international extension" in the past where I tell you what is available, you tell me what you want to contribute, I mail your choices (limited to 2 or 3 books) to you and you mail your contribution to the next person in line for the physical box.

Let me know if you are interested. That goes for whomever.

Hi all

I promised to get another round of this going this month. More than happy to take sign ups of interested folks now.

As you may know, this book box was originally the creation of MaryZee, who sadly left us 4 years ago, and I have continued it in her honor. Link to MaryZee's original thread, with info on the nature of the BookBox: http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/465947

I put the book box in the mail to Azuki this morning. It is packaged in an Amazon box, so don't be confused.

Yes please! I have some interesting books on hand just for this bookbox! (I'd prefer to be in the middle of the list, but can manage any position.)

Hi, 6of8!
Just to tell you that the link takes us to a book and not to MaryZee's original thread :-)
Is this box international or US only?
I'm too busy with other readings at the moment, and maybe I won't even participate. Just curious :-)
Thank you!

I'll pass this time, thank you. But I'll keep an eye on it. Who knows, maybe next time :-)
Have fun!

...*everything* I can think of that would belong in this box is currently TBR. :(

Can I go right after Gory? Hahahaha! Gory's always got the very best books.

Can I go right after Gory? Hahahaha! Gory's always got the very best books.

I can't argue with that! ;)

Amen! I will try to drum up a few more interested parties and I will post the list of current contents here.

At the moment, Azuki is first in line because she said she has stuff to play with already.

I'll play!
As always. : ) After all this time...
And I happen to have a few books ready already! Which is kind of unusual for me. : )

...please include me next round. I’m reading a couple now.

Hope to participate again next time!

thanks for the PM as I tend to stay out of this forum, lest the shelves collapse under Mt Toobie! I have 2 set aside already....maybe get another 1-2 read before the box shows up!

Thanks for the PM, I would love to join this box again!

Hope to find something interesting

I will be traveling next week. I will try to get it out before my trip but if not, will do so in about 2 weeks.

I am very sorry, but my MIL just passed away on Thursday. So my husband and I have cancelled my original planned weekend trip and today we are flying back to Macau to be with his family and take care of things.

I attempted to get the box sent before flying out today, but I am sorry, it's just too much stress, emotional toll and a long list of to-do already to prepare for a long trip in such short notice, I cannot manage it.

My sincere apologies for delaying the box. I hope you guys have known me long enough to know that I will take care of it as soon as I can, when I return at the end of March.

So sorry to hear about your mother-in-law - much sympathy to you and your family!

Azuki,
I am terribly sorry for your loss. This book box should not be your top concern right now. A delay in its journey is of no consequence compared to the grief in your life. I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers. Fly safely!
Hugs

Oh, no... condolences to you, your husband, and his family.

I'm sure everyone participating in the box understands that you have other priorities right now, and you certainly can't be expected to deal with a book box when you're out of the country!

Family has to come first, so do what you need to do. It won't hurt the books to wait a while.

So sorry, dear friend! Much love to you and your family as you go through this hard time!

Poor Azuki!!
Big hugs to you and your family (and I already commented your notice on my bookbox going around...please don't stress about BC books/boxes/whathaveyou...we are here to DESTRESS :-)

And just leaving a note here...I will be out of the country - getting back mid April, so if it comes around to me before then, please just move me down.

Thanks!!

Family is more important.

I will make my choses and send it off to NancyNova.

as soon as I can get to the Post Office.

and I'm still reading the replacements. It will likely stay until mid-May, then move along. I PM'd Gory to confirm her address.

The box arrived today, while I was in the middle of setting up my planter-boxes for eggplant, peppers, and tomatoes (now that it *finally* seems to be the end of the snow season, knock on wood). Things are a bit chaotic for me, but I hope to be able to move it on within a week, two at the most. [Update: here's a link to the bookbox journal, where I'll post my selections and replacements: http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/12066669 ]

I mailed the box to elizardbreath today, tracking # 9549012103468149156631, estimated arrival 6/4/18. Hope it travels safely!

I've posted my choices and replacements in the bookbox journal ( https://www.bookcrossing.com/---/12066669/ ). Enjoy!

I've removed:

The Hanging Tree
The Rituals of Dinner
Dark Light
Portrait of Dr. Gachet

I'm putting in:

The Yellow-Lighted Bookshop by Lewis Buzbee
To the Letter by Simon Garfield
Book Clubs by Elizabeth Long
The Disappearing Spoon by Sam Kean

I'm planning to put this in the mail on 6/28.

I'd like to participate. Better get reading!

At the end I can handle. At the beginning is impossible.

Thank you! That's funny.

YAY!!! I will be getting it ready to head out as soon as I can, just send a PM to Hyphen8 :-)

Only just noticed "Now jn process"...5 months later. The brain sees what it expects to see, sometimes. :p

you are right
i have fixed it

It wasn't a criticism - it made me laugh that it was there all this time!

Also, I did send my address to Innae.

that "j" is a sneaky critter

even after I read your message, it took me forever to understand that it was in my original post, because it still looked like an "i" to me.

Via Media Mail (what a saver that is :-)

Now I really need to get my act together...

..just need rhythmbiscuit's address.

Details of what I'm adding & subtracting from the box here: https://www.bookcrossing.com/---/12066669#27725194

Still waiting to hear from rhythmbiscuit but I leave for vacation on Tuesday. So if I don't get an address tomorrow the box probably won't be mailed until 8/22 at the earliest.

My apologies for the delay in responding to your PM. I too am traveling. I emailed you my address, and I look forward to receiving the box when you return.

So, um, I'm home..but sitting with my fingers crossed that the hurricane doesn't do too much damage. I've done as much prep as I can, but most places are closed, so I'm hoping to mail the box next week. Sorry for the delay!

Stay safe --that's the most important.

Yipe! I think an impending hurricane counts is a good excuse for staying away from the post office!

Hope all is safe and well and nothing more than staying home a few days with books! Just stock up on water (both potable and not) and food and secure your windows and doors and relax. Box is definitely safer with you than somewhere in the post office!!

Details can be found with the space shuttles. :)

Hurrah! That means that you survived and are not currently treading water!

According to tracking, the box was expected for 9/17. However, the last update was 9/9, and the box is still in transit.

Here’s hoping it arrives soon. I’m looking forward to seeing what’s inside!

This seems to be the norm: once it hits the ocean part of its journey (in either direction) it vanishes for a while. Sadly media mail to & from Hawaii seems to be taking longer and longer. It used to be that 3 weeks was the norm. Now, who knows?

As of today (9/28) the box is apparently in LA, so it's at least getting *closer* to Colorado.

Hooray, the box is here. I'll make my selections soon.

There were a lot of really cool-looking books inside. In addition, I have a small stack of appropriate titles that came off MaryZee's shelves when her daughter was clearing them off this summer. So there will be some interesting reading in the next round.

I am not looking to send this around again until about March at the earliest. Feel free to post here or send me a PM if you want to sign up for it.

Please add me to the new round!

Oh yes for sure, in for the next round!!

Please add me to the list for the next round.
