** round 2.

A bookbox just with 1001 books for 1001-Library members in Europe. In 2011, there were 3 rounds of the VBB. To make sure there is no confusion, I am rebooting the box with new books. The box will have the same rules as last year, there will be about 20 books in the box, participants will make their selection and replace the books with the same number from their own bookshelves. TBR books are fine, as long as they get bumped up your reading list when requested. The VBB would start in February.

Check out the 1001-Library's shelf for more info (

Round 2
Any interest?

Silly question Soffitta, of course I'm in. And looking forward to it. I've read a few more so will have new ones for the VBB this time around. Hoping to get a couple more read and registered before my turn comes around.

I've been stalking the bookring/ray/vbb forum waiting for this. I also have a bunch of availables for the next round, hope they will be enjoyed :)

Thank you :-)

wingsoffitta1wing 6 yrs ago
All 3 added :)

Hope you find books you are interested in.

Thanks to LiniP for the donations.

winglamelemonwing 6 yrs ago
Hi guys!
Here are my additions for the second round:

Slaughterhouse-Five, by Kurt Vonnegut
A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, by James Joyce
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, by Douglas Adams
Pippi Longstocking, by Astrid Lindgren
July's People, by Nadine Gordimer

I'll be removing my two lingering books from the previous round, and three more from other bookcrossers:

1. Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse (blackwidow1971)
9. The Hours by Michael Cunningham (Boekentrol)
23. Nausea by Jean-Paul Sartre (LiniP)

Good luck to everyone in picking the most suitable next 1001s :)

Don't worry and take your time - my Mt. TBR isn't unfortunately melting any time soon :) PMed the address - thanks!

RE: RE: Nausea
I sent the book out today. Hope it will get there in reasonable time.

Am studying the situation carefully!

I will pass on taking a book, I have so many in the works now. But I will make available

Kristin Lavransdatter, the trilogy:

Thanks, everyone. On to the next player.

Another member of the library, Fluffy-Owl, has some books that she needs to rehome before she moves.

Mill on the Floss
Ethan Frome
An Artist of the Floating World
The Turn of the Screw and other short stories
Their Eyes Were Watching God

If you fancy any, send her a PM, I already have!!!

I hope this doesn't come across as me being greedy, but I'm choosing 6 this round. I couldn't decide between them so I thought I'd take them all, lol.

The books I am choosing are;

The Autobiography of Alice B Toklas by Gertrude Stein (blackwidow1971)

Ragtime – Doctorow (soffitta1)

The Namesake (soffitta1)

King Solomon’s Mines (soffitta1)

Under The Volcano (LiniP)

Kristin Lavrandsdatter triology (Hayes13)

I am replacing them with the following;

Small Island - Andrea Levy

So Long a Letter - Mariama Ba

The Outsider - Albert Camus

Dead Air - Iain Banks

Disappearance - David Dabydeen

The Book if Laughter and Forgetting - Milan Kundera

Thanks so much everyone for sharing your books, and to soffitta1 for continuing to organise this VBB (and the UK one too). PM's are on the way now xx

I am currently reading Under the Volcano and hope to finish it soon. Please bear with me for a little while because I have a friend staying with me this weekend and I do not know how much reading time I will have.

Thanks for making such a great choice of the books avaiable and for organising this, soffitta1!
