Round 2 of the US/Can 1001-Library VBB will begin on February 4! Although participation is limited to 1001-Library members, the books in the VBB do not need to be registered to the Library, as long as they appear on one of the three editions of the 1001 Books to Read Before You Die list.

If you're not yet a member of the 1001-Library but are interested in joining, please check out their profile here: http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/1001-library

HOW IT WORKS (stolen from the mystery VBB hosted by bookstogive with very few modifications) --

- If you would like to join, just post here and you will be added to the list. This is a US/Canada Bookbox so you need to be prepared to ship to either.

- When it is your turn I will PM the list of available books to you. You will have 7 days to make your selections from the list. You then post on this forum thread which books you are taking and which ones you are adding to the "box". Also PM me with the info as well, and in my PM please include links for the books you are adding. You may take as many books as you like and replace with the same number. Please do not add a book that is already on the list.

EDIT: For Round 2, anyone who is so inclined may add one or two fewer book than they take. So if you put in three books you may take four or five!

- You then pm the person holding the books you have selected and they send those books to you. Please send your requested books out in a timely manner (within three weeks), but if you are having a problem getting it out on time just let me and the person who has selected your book know.

- The list then gets updated with the changes and moves to the next person who takes their turn.

received
both books from hyphen8...thanks so much for both of them. I do appreciate them.

Thanks to everyone for your patience, I know the "box" moved slowly through these last few turns! Round 2 has now completed - Vasha did not want any books and I just moved halfway across the country and can't take any right now. So sorry, I know not everyone got books moving this round - I didn't, either!

I am intending to do a Round 3, but it won't be immediate... maybe July or August or so. As with the last round, no one is under any obligation to reserve any books they may have left in the box right now. I know how tough 1001-Library books can be to get moving, so it's more than okay to send one out if you get the request. Heck, if you run out of 1001 books to read before next round starts, I'm happy to PM you the final list of books and you can directly contact the owner to see if it's still available.

Finally, since I can't do another round too quickly - if anyone gets impatient, you are more than welcome to start a round of your own with my blessing. ;)

Thanks again to all who participated!

Many, many thanks for organising this VBB.
I thoroughly enjoy the chance to offer books & take new 1001 books...
Looking forward to being part of round 111 whenever that may be... thanks once again.

Thanks for doing this, and good luck in your new location.

Thanks for organizing the VBB. There's been some great books offered and I'm glad to see some of the books moving. Looking forward to the next round, whenever it is.

Thought I would just say I am in whenever we restart! And wanted to be sure everyone knows oppem passed away a week ago. There's a release challenge in her memory. Some info is on her page.

but if you begin it again, let me know. I always seem to have a few 1001 books around.

No problem! I've been thinking of starting in October for Round 3, a bit later than initially planned, just been so busy lately... but by then I'll be down to just one job from my current two, so I think that would work. I'll try to start PMing previous participants in the coming weeks to gauge interest.
