Happy (and Hearty) Bally-tine's Day!
Yes, we know it's a bit early, but it's never too early for love. Come
February 14th (Valentine's Day),
chocolate, flowers and candy hearts will abound.
And frankly, since we don't plan on having a newsletter out in time, we are letting Cupid out of the bag early with our
Wings. Fly by the Supply Store and show your Book
Crossing love. Don't wait too long because on February 14th when the clock strikes midnight, they'll go undercover until next year.

UK BookCrossers: Join 'World Book Night'
Help to give away 1,000,000 books
Hello, UK BookCrossers! Is there a book that you love so much that you just want to give it to
dozens of people? On March 5, 2011, you could be one of 20,000 (yes, 20,000!)
booklovers who get the opportunity to do just that. Join
a new UK-based charity,
World Book Night, and BookCrossing, to
win and help give away 4 dozen books.
With the full support of BookCrossing, Publishers Association, the Booksellers Association, the
Independent Publishers Guild, the Reading Agency with libraries, World Book Day and the BBC, one million books (labeled and preregistered with
a BookCrossing Identification number) will be given away by an army of passionate readers to members of the public. This grand endeavor will result in
carpeting the UK and Ireland with a million great books while spreading the love of reading.
Go to the World Book Night
website, and register your details. Choose
from the twenty-five books on offer and, if you're a lucky winner, you'll be sent a box of 48 copies to be handed out on the big night - and no
hidden catches. (Hurry, though! Entry deadline is 0900 UK time on Tuesday, January 24, 2011.)
BC in DC
Annual BookCrossing Convention: Celebrating 10 Years
The Annual BookCrossing
Convention returns to the United States in 2011 and will be held in its capital city, Washington, D.C. Join us on the weekend of
April 15-17, 2011 when hundreds of BookCrossers will descend upon the Washington, D.C. area to joyfully
celebrate BookCrossing's 10th year anniversary. Themed games, speakers, an amazing raffle, and outings to museums, the largest library of
the world, one of the most historic towns in America, Civil War battlefields, the National Zoo, and a center chock full of free books will be some of the
attractions to delight all attendees. With so much to see and do, it will be difficult to pick and choose between the fun opportunities.
Check out the BC in DC website to
get other Convention details (including registration forms, schedules and hotel information), join the discussion forum, download free convention labels, and
subscribe to the Convention blog. Don't forget to check out the website every Wednesday for a new installment in our Adventure Series showcasing many
different area attractions you might see during the Convention. Register now.

OBCZ of the
Cafe M: The Living Room
Local BookCrossers from Aachen, Germany discovered that their city had only one OBCZ.
RalfH explains, "hexenberg73 and I asked the owner of the Cafe M to open an OBCZ. At once, he was
really enthusiastic, and in October 2010, we started the new OBCZ in the little old-school Cafe opposite from the spa gardens in
Aachen-Burtscheid." The owner calls his cafe his "living room", and that's exacltly what it looks like. "Books fit quite well
there," states RalfH, "So every time I visit the cafe, people ask me about BookCrossing - they take away books while others bring big
boxes packed with more books. Now there are more than hundred books available!" See their bookshelf
