Two days ago - oddly enough, when Stephen has to kill her horse. So many poignant moments in such a book, and that's the one that got to me! lml "A book on a shelf is safe, but that is not what books are for"

They've gone one step too far and I think they'll regret it - soon. Just when my area finally got an organizer, they throw this out there! Well maybe it's time to start a meeting forum here. Sorry I'm so late throwing…

Sorry, couldn't resist that line from the song! for me the list is longish, but not very interesting, compared to some BXers! Delmont, PA Jacksonville, FL (several times) Dubuque, IA Monroe, LA Sheboygan, WI N…

Home of THE BLUES BROTHERS, and also the prison made famous by that movie. Okay, I'm actually in Crest Hill and not Joliet, but Crest Hill has NO fame that I'm aware of! Isn't it fun to see all of the civic pride t…

I just finished my survey and found it of little use for many of the reasons mentioned here. The list they used (of 208 books in my case) contained many that I never read or rated - just owned to pass along via BX. Wil…

I agree - I can't finish this book. I barely got past the first chapter, to be honest. Didn't finish the second before I just had to put it away. I'm frankly disappointed - I wanted to like it! I love the cover desig…

While we're on the subject, I'd like to add that while at one time the Red Cross instructions included striking a choking person on the back, that is not the case any longer. Unless the victim is an infant small enough …

I know a Nick who's married to a... Tikki. I don't know where it came from or if it's her real name, but there it is. Didn't like it when I first heard it, but now I really think it's catchy. Now that I think about it…

I usually host, so I bring the little sign you can print from the website - people will be looking for you! I also bring many books, too, so it's really pretty obvious that the bookcrossing meetup starts over there wher…

I'd LOVE to get that url from you when you find it! What we have in mind is to include all perspectives. We expect that our readership will be primarily female, but we think anyone in the household should be able t…

Okay, I guess I'm ready to come out of the proverbial closet (a couple of bookcrossers know about this already, but here goes). I'm starting a magazine. Not an e-zine, but a real (we hope) live, buy-it-at-B&N type of…

I'm posting this here because I know alot of my fellow bookcrossers are writers or aspiring writers. I'm seeking articles - true or fictional stories, poetry, even original artwork - that relate to divorce. You don't h…

I too have been away for a week or so, and on returning, I'm with those who don't like the change. But, as someone else said, that's good. I was spending too much time here anyway. This way I'll only follow one or two…

I'd guess there's more eye movement - and you have to turn pages! TV isn't just mindless - it's motionless.

Well, it's not necessarily where I got off. Could be where I saw the book picked up by someone else, for instance. I took a train from Chicago to Pittsburgh and released three books on the train. One of them was snagg…

I've been stumped on this issue, too, when releasing on trains. What I've settled on is using the location where I lost control of the book (essentially, where I last saw it "free").

I agree! I've changed direction more than once - and am headed in two different directions as we speak. But I think that's okay, too. Who knows where either road will lead? lml - following more than one dream
