Just a little plug here, but if you haven't read anything by Anne Lamott before, you've got to give this one a try! I'd say, it's one of the best books I've ever read-- It's honest and realistic and beautifully human. I …

I agree-- our little meet-up was indeed lots of fun! Good ideas for releases were shared, and strong enthusiasm about getting the word out to others in our area. Thought I'd post the links for ya, jennyscott! See you …

I just love seeing a book mysteriously travel like that, and wondering about it's journey!

It's a pretty popular book in my neck of the woods-- since most of it is set in this region. My husband loved it, and now I hear it's being made into a movie. Read it before the "pre-movie-read-the-book" rush sets in! :)

I agree with you, solittletime, on placing clear tape over the BCID number; not only is it less likely to get lost, but it also has less chance of rubbing off (especially with the smudgy black pens I tend to use!) I use …

It also means that someone is willing, (and generous!) to send out a book without asking for a trade in return. You'll find a lot of those generous people around here!

I'm glad you enjoyed White Teeth so much, karoda! That's exactly how I felt after finishing it, and when I couldn't find anyone around me that felt the same, I knew I had to create a bookring in the desperate hopes that …

Since I needed to bump this to a new post anyway, and help get the game rolling again... I accepted: "The Forgetting Room" by Nick Bantock, and will offer either: "Skinny Legs and All" by Tom Robbins, or "Shopgirl" b…

Ooooh, at that price, I'd grab three!

I think those negative images, whether physical images (like you picturing a ranting Gloria), or otherwise conjured up as a masculine, hairy, abrasive woman, really keep people from recognizing the true value of the word…

Ooooh, I agree with you, spy. I also think that the "girl power" culture is a double-edged sword: It's great that many of today's girl's feel they can do anything boys can do, but I think our culture has attempted to tur…
