I read 60 books this year. 35 of them had at least 8/10 stars. Nine short story collections. Six of them featured birds on the covers.

Mira Jacob's 'Sleepwalker's Guide to Dancing' was my favorite book the year I read it! So I hope she isn't only working on graphic novels now... though I haven't had a chance to read 'Good Talk' yet.
