Books on Shirts. Shirts on a Mission.
There’s
a saying, "Never judge a book by its cover", but how about if the book cover appears on T-shirts? BookCrossing's newest partner,
Out of Print, has licensed the rights to classic book covers and put them on t-shirts. The
hangtag attached to each shirt is actually a special BookCrossing bookplate, so after buying a shirt, you can use the bookplate to label and release a book. Part of the company's inaugural launch was at the Sundance Film Festival. You can read about their
wild releases
here. If that's not cool enough, Out of Print's
mission is to spread the joy of reading and to get books into the hands of readers whose access to books is limited. They donate one book to a community in need for each t-shirt they sell. With the purchase of one of their shirts, you can look good
and feel good, knowing a good book has found a new reader. BookCrossing and Out of Print -- suited to a T.
