Recent Book Activity

my love affair with books began when i was very little and has never lasped. my mother would read to my sisters and i as we did the dishes. she got through THE HOBBIT, THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING, TREASURE ISLAND and KIDNAPPED, with the only argument from us being would she read another chapter. as a teen i remember reading books from the bookshelves that lined our basement walls from floor to ceiling.

my personal collection contains a large amount of plays and arts related non-fiction. i love a good mystery - P.D. James, Agatha Christie (of course). Memoirs are fascinating to me. Anne Tyler is my favorite comtemporary author. Her characterizations take my breath away.
