Hey all - I love to read all types of books (except Harlequin-type romances and I do read those once in awhile), although I have more time in the winter than the summer. :-) I have always loved books and love BookCrossing! Unfortunately I don't make it to this site all that much any more, but I do still try to keep up at least a bit.

I am listing my PC books on my shelf so people can see what I really enjoy reading. I buy a lot of books at library sales to trade and release but they don't really show my personal reading preferences. My PC books consist of my absolute favorites so they are not for trading or loans. I also have some books on my PC shelf that I haven't read so they could be either PC or AVL when I have finished them.

Shown is a picture of our Paint stallion, Grumps Supertrain (also known as Levi). He is a homozygous splash Paint.

We live in the country and I love animals of all kinds. We currently have 1 cat, 2 dogs, 26 horses, chickens, and tropical fish. We've had almost every type of animal and poultry over the years (when our kids were in 4-H). We love kids and have 6 children, 3 girls and 3 boys (born in 1974, 1977, 1983, 1985, 2000, and 2001), 2 grandsons (born in 2000 and 2005) and a granddaughter (born in 2012).

We have been licensed to do foster care/adopt since May 2009 - but since we are only interested in age 5-6 years and younger, we have not had a placement yet. We are also interested in adopting, possibly a sibling group. We are also looking into domestic adoption of special needs infant/toddlers of any race. We'd love to do another international adoption (especially Bulgaria or Ethiopia) but just can't afford to do so.

My current goal is to read all the books that have been Oprah's Picks!! I think there are 67 of them to date and I've read (or have available to read) 58 of them so far! The ones I haven't read yet are:
East of Eden by John Steinbeck
Light in August by William Faulkner
A Virtuous Woman by Kaye Gibbons
The Road by Cormac McCarthy
Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez
The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett
A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle
The Story of Edgar Sawtelle by David Wroblewski
Say You're One of Them by Uwem Akpan

I started an OBCZ at my son's store, KawreS Bookshelf. If you see anything you want there, let me know and I'll see if it's still available. While my son is remodeling, these books are stored away and are very hard to get to!
