Extended Profile
[edit - jaunuary 15 2008]
++ i have since managed to procure almost all of gaiman's books. i have finally satiated my curiosity and read "the day i swapped my dad for two goldfish".
never realised how aloof my profile looked until AuntyJo suggested that i put in something about myself.
i grew up being made to read Enid Blyton books because my mother thought they were lovely books and i suspect that it was also because she wanted me to be like her friend's daughter who was able to read at a really early age. not that i'm complaining. i love her books and it definitely cultivated my love for books in general.
i watch TV for a living. no, i kid you not. Astro pays me to watch television 12 hours a day. it could be a blessing in someways and a curse in others. it means that i'm able to spend a large amount of that time reading instead of watching [that is providing i don't make big booboos that would get everyone else in trouble] :P but it also means odd working hours and not being able to spend some weekends and holidays with friends and family.
my granny's home is a treasure trove for books. ok so she's basically a packrat and she still has my uncle's primary school exercise books stashed somewhere in her room. but oh, the wonderful collection of books from my father, his siblings and his uncle's times...
the thought of a 'books to be read in *insert year*' list never crossed my mind. it would definitely keep me reading throughout the year instead of a short-term borderline obsessive reading frenzy which would be followed by another short term borderline obsession on something else. my short attention span can be a pain sometimes as i'm often left with unfinish artwork and books. [focus, jasmin. focus]
