My book is Sea of Poppies by Amitav Ghosh. Challenge participants have been added to the ring automatically. Other interested people - PM me if you'd like to join (Australia only).

Not Untrue & Not Unkind

I participated in the Booker 2005 Longlist Challenge (see Fleebo's bookshelf for details). I have now completed this challenge - YAY!

My book was The Accidental by Ali Smith. It has now made it home safely!

I've taken the Book Quiz and apparently I'm Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll.

After stumbling down the wrong turn in life, you've had your mind opened to a number of strange and curious things. As life grows curiouser and curiouser, you have to ask yourself what's real and what's the picture of illusion. Little is coming to your aid in discerning fantasy from fact, but the line between them is so blurry that it's starting not to matter. Be careful around rabbit holes and those who smile to much, and just avoid hat shops altogether.

Take the Book Quiz at the Blue Pyramid.

My Rating System
I have copied this from florafloraflora's bookshelf and adapted it slightly to suit my own system.

10. Excellent. I couldn’t put it down while I was reading it, and as soon as I finished I wanted to go back to the beginning and read it again.
9. Great book. Just a nitpick stands between it and a 10. I’d like to read it again when I get the chance.
8. Good book. I enjoyed it and would recommend it to others.
7. Good book overall. I disliked or struggled with parts of it, but I'm still glad I read it.
6. Decent, but not my type of book and I wouldn’t read it again.
5. Average. I struggled to get through it, but perhaps others will like it.
4. Below average and barely worth reading. I didn’t enjoy it.
2-3. Poor. I would not recommend this book to others.
1. It's hard to imagine anyone liking this book.
