Some notes on my bookshelf statistics:
Just a note: I don't use the "controlled release" feature - too many clicks, plus I prefer that with journal entries the persons before me get notified when a ring moves on :o)

The number of wild releases should be taken with a grain of salt
- in the beginning, I made release notes for every book I sent somewhere
- usually I don't but sometimes I do make release notes for OBCZ releases so others will know they are there or that there is some meetup going on.
- I *often* wild release books and forget the notes, sometimes I only set them to travelling *months* later - combine all those facts and the number of my releases is only more or less approximate

YES, I do have ~100 more "books found" than "releases caught"
NO, I don't hoard BC books :O)
Of my true wild releases, it's very rare that a book writes back.
Also, the speed at which I acquire books (through BC or bookstores or flea markets or whatnot- oh well, replace or by AND *sigh*) is usually smaller than the one at which I can read them.
I work weekends, so usually when there is a release walk going on I just hand a stack of books to the others to release for me, so no notes, no counts
Meetups and OBCZ visits are eeeeevil, there is some kind of law that I *must* come out with more books than I have taken with me even if I have the best of intentions- they scream at me not to leave them! - the idea that bookcrossing is a great way to free my bookshelves just doesn't work :O)
While I have been the lucky recipient of many RABCKs, most of my BC books come through trades- not book for book which would balance the numbers, but also book for wings when I'm able to.
When I have finally gotten through a book that has no predetermined destination, I usually let them travel on through our OBCZ or wild releases or RABCKs- just not immediately, I read too fast to think of good ways to "dispose" of them- currently apart from my overflowing although double-stacked bookshelf I have 3 boxes of AVLs in my 14 square meter room :O)
