WELL, I have been leaving books about for a couple years now as they have started to take over all my space. Right now I am writing from New Orleans where I'm busy with Roughing It by Mark Twain and piles of New York Times Book Reviews and Science Times that I've "saved" up. But recently I left a drawer full of books in a Budget Suites in TX. I am currently driving across country, CA to home NY and leaving whatever i'm reading where i finish it. I might keep my Mark Twain however. I left behind The Best American Travel Writing 2000 in Dallas and will probably leave 2001 in New Orleans although i might have to take some of the essays out to keep! Some of the other books I've left behind recently (las vegas, phoenix) are T.C. Boyle's A Friend Of The Earth (I kept Worlds End), Cormac McCarthy's The Orchard Keeper, Denis Johnson's Already Dead (which I now feel guilty for not stickering with a Warning) and a good alternative to the pulp ER stuff Pamela Grim's Just Here Trying To Save A Few Lives. There's been more left behind but I couldnt leave my dusty San Luis Obispo-little shop finds of Tracks by Robyn Davidson and the cheesy sci fi Phase IV which made as much sense as the 70's flick.
I'm hoping in the future to leave some good stuff out there that someone will enjoy and also find out about bookcrossing with.
