What a wonderful thing books are - they can teach us all we wish to know and take us on wonderful journeys. There's nothing that comes close to a good book for taking away lonliness and helping us to "disappear" from reality for a while!

My pile of books to be read is constantly growing as are the amount of bookshelves in my house - almost every available wall space is taken up by shelves groaning under the weight of so many pages and the books still don't fit on! The ones that are left sit in patient piles waiting for their own place on a shelf.

My favourite books at the moment are "The Vampire Chronicles" by Anne Rice which are so marvellously descriptive that it all seems so real. Terry Pratchett is another of my favourites because he never fails to make me laugh and his way of thinking, well, it just makes so much sense!

Generally I love books about archaeology, green issues, history, biographies, travel and, being a witchy type of person, I adore books on the supernatural, magick, herbs and religion in general. Plus a bit of humour every now and then just to lighten me up a bit!

So far I've released one book into the wild and registered a few more but I'm sure this will rapidly grow. I think bookcrossing is a marvellous idea and I can sense it's going to be highly addictive!

Now for my own little plug: You can visit my website, Spirit of Old for all kinds of handcrafted magickal items with real Celtic soul!

Currently reading:
Memnoch the Devil by Anne Rice
The Diary of Anne Frank
Northern Lights by Philip Pullman
