"I have lost all sense of home, having moved about so much. It means to me now--only that place where the books are kept." John Steinbeck
I'm currently reading: Lord of the Rings (3.03.12)
I am an archaeologist with interests in Maritime History and Archaeology, Near Eastern and Turkish Archaeology and the Anthropology of Death and Burial. I mainly work on big construction sites or in cemeteries. I like history, archaeology, architecture, engineering,
music, photography, URBEX and any books on the 1001 books list. I am very interested in reading about Colonial African History and the History of Turkey from the fall of Byzantium through the Ottoman Empire to the present day. I also love travelling and travel
books, particularly classic accounts of travels in the Middle East and Africa.
Things I like: Old books on the middle east, maritime ephemera (particularly on liverpool), things with camels on, things with monkeys on, anything James Bond (Craig and Connery), mint chocolate, edamame beans, yasai itame or anything with tofu in, dystopian
literature, marmite, the Haghia Sophia, Deadwood, Prison Break, architectural history, flipflops and Toyota Hiluxes.
I'm reading the "1001 books to read before you die list". The counter below now includes the combined number of books on all versions of the list from 2006, 2008 and 2010 (I started it on 25th December 2008).
If you see a book on my available shelf then that means i am usually willing to send it on. I will ask for a trade if it is a hardback book though and usually it will have to be a wishlist trade. NB I am not likely to send books to you if you have been on book
crossing for years but are really inactive. Also my ability to send books out around the globe is dependent on my finances and where I am working i.e UK or abroad so please don't be offended if I have to say no sometimes!

You're Jurassic Park!
by Michael Crichton
You combine all the elements of a mad scientist, a brash philosopher,
a humble researcher, and a money-hungry attracter of tourists. With all these features,
you could build something monumental or get chased around by your own demons. Probably
both, in fact. A movie based on your life would make millions, and spawn at least two
sequels thatwouldn't be very good. Be very careful around islands.
