Ever since I can remember I have had my nose in a book. In fact one of the saddest days of my life is when I found out my parents had sold all my childhood books at a car-boot sale.

During my early teens I went through a Judy Blume phase as I'm sure most girls around my age did (who can forget the first time they read Forever?). Later on in my teens I started to get into Terry Pratchett, who I still enjoy today.

These days I would find it impossible to choose a favourite book or author. So instead I'll give you an idea of some of the authors I love, and some of my favourite books:

David Eddings - I particularly love the Belgariad and Malloreon series. Even though these were fantasy books he is such a good author that I was immediately there amongst them. It was also the first time I realised you could fall in love with a character (Silk) to the point of jealousy when someone appears on the scene!

James Herbert - ever since I read the Rats trilogy when I was about 14. I've probably got about 12-15 of his books in my collection now.

Phil Rickman - Phil usually writes about books set around the Herefordshire area, which I know reasonably well. If you enjoy novels about the Supernatural then I can't recommend him highly enough.

As well as these I also love to read biographies and autobiographies. Amongst my favourites are Billy by Pamela Stevenson and Ricky by Ricky Tomlinson.

I also enjoy reading Crime/Thrillers, as you can see from my bookshelf.

Outside of the world of books I love music with everything in my collection from The Monkees to Motorhead.

I also love movies, one of my favourite actors was Peter Sellers, in fact I can't wait to see The Life and Death of Peter Sellers. I read the book by Roger Lewis when it came out about ten years ago and regret that it is no longer in my collection.

My other main passion in life is comedy. As I mentioned before I am a huge fan of Peter Sellers, so consequently I love The Goon Show. I was brought up on a steady diet of the Goon Show, Monty Python and Blackadder. These days I am more into stand up comedy, Bill Hicks, Bill Bailey and Ross Noble being my top 3.

My hobbies include cross-stitch and glass painting, although I don't get the chance to do them very often. I have four cats and they love to take an interest in what I'm doing, leading to coloured footprints across the carpet and furniture!

I am happy to lend out the majority of books in my personal collection, so if you see anything you fancy, let me know!

My wish list is as follows (thanks to Cliff!)

Thanks for reading about me.
