Στην αρχή δεν υπήρχε τίποτα. Ώσπου μια μέρα, στην Τετάρτη Δημοτικού, μου έβαλαν στα χέρια μια δίτομη έκδοση των Τριών Σωματοφυλακων. Θύμωσα, τσαντίστηκα, έβγαλα τη γλώσσα μου, γιατί περίμενα μια κούκλα αντί για ένα βιβλίο αλλά, τελικά, απο περιέργεια και μόνο το διάβασα.
Αυτό ήταν...Σε ένα μικρό χωριό ήμουν το μοναδικό κοριτσάκι που ήθελε (και ακόμη ίσως να θέλει) να γίνει σωματοφύλακας του βασιλιά...Τα χρόνια περάσαν, οι επαγγελματικές βλέψεις του κοριτσιού άλλαξαν, αλλά αυτό που έμεινε ήταν η αγάπη για τα βιβλία, η ανάγκη για τα ταξίδια που μου προσέφεραν και ενα ανικανοποίητο πάθος για μαθήματα ξιφασκίας...
Τα βιβλία τα βλέπω ως τρόπο απελευθέρωσης (απο τι; απο τα πάντα) και ως ένα φτηνό μεταφορικό μέσο για άλλους κόσμους. Μέσα απο τα βιβλία βλέπω με αλλα μάτια, πιο καθαρά, ψηλά ή στραμμένα σε άλλη κατεύθυνση απ' οτι τα δικά μου και αυτο με γοητεύει!
Ο λόγος που έγινα μέλος του bookcrossing είναι γιατί μου προσφέρεται η δυνατότητα να μιλήσω με άλλους ανθρώπους που αγαπούν τα βιβλία και να δω πως αυτά αλληλεπιδρούν στη ζωή τους...

At the beggining, there was nothing...Until one day, when i was 9 years old, someone gave me a two-volume edition of the Three Musqueteers. I was mad, i was angry,i cried because i was expecting a Barbie doll instead of a book but i finally read it, out of curiosity
That did it...In the small village where i was raised i was the olny girl who wanted (and still wants)to become a musqueteer. The years passed, the girl's plan for her future changed but her love for books and an unfullfiled love for fencing remained unchanged.
I view bookd as a means of liberation (from everything) and as a cheap way to travel across the world. i can see with different eyes through books, clearer and higher. the reason i became a bookscrosser is because i have an oppurtunity to communicate with other people who love the same books as i do...
