Recent Book Activity

I'm on RABCK.com.

I'm so glad I found my first bookcrossing book at the train station all those years ago, although I'm annoyed with myself for taking 5 years to Journal it! Since I've joined bookcrossing has become a big part of my life. I've read more books then I've ever read before. Averaging over 100 books per year! I own more books then I've ever had before (yeah, I decided to join bookcrossing as a way of keeping in touch with books I gave away...Now I have more then I started with). I love joining in, in the RACBK forums. I've won sweepstakes and sent books to many. I love the exchanges. Massive thanks to all the bookcrossers who have sent me something over the years :) I love the wishlist feature, not only can I send my books onto people who want to have them but I've been able to sample lots of books that I wouldn't normally buy but have put on my wishlist becuase I've read reviews or been told by others that they are awesome. I've read so many books by authors I wouldn't normaly pick up. I think it's fair to say I love bookcrossing!

I've recently moved from my parents house into my own place. I love living with my boyfriend but I no longer have my whole wage to spend on books, postage etc. (How dare bills get in the way of my book addiction!) This means I'm no longer sending out as many RABCKS. I've been trying to do a few more wild releases, I'm a bit shy tho and I need no one to be around when I do it. Hopefully I'll be making more money soon and back to posting around the world :)

Now onto the books I enjoy! My very favorite author is Virgina Andrews. Ever since my aunt brought a bag of second hand books round, which contained 'Darkest Hour' I've been hooked! I'm easily pleased when it comes to books. I like most of them! I very rarely give up on a book. These are the sorts of books I like:
Historical fiction - Probably my favorite type of book. I will read all kinds of historical fiction, I am most fascinated by The Tudors.
History - Anything about The Tudors, Kings and Queens of Europe and Medieval
Chick Lit - I am no book snob, I love chick lit. Sure it's just the same plot with diffrent characters in every book but sometimes a little light heartedness is just what you need.
Tragic Real Life - I like reading about other people and the hardships they have faced, these books tend to make me cry
Horror - I love being scared, and I get scared easy! If a books giving me nightmares then it's a good one.
Sci Fi - I've not read much Sci fi, which is odd becuase I love sci fi films and tv. Thanks to Sci Fi Now magazine, which has a massive books section. I've been adding lots of titles to my wishlist which I hope to get to read soon.
Childrens picture books - I've recently become an aunt so any picture books would be welcomed.
Fiction set in Japan, I also enjoy manga, graphic novels and young adult fiction. But as I said before I like most books so anything really!

3 - finished book, but more a chore than pleasure
4 - finished book , but wouldn't choose to read another by this author
5 - average, but wouldn't put me off another book by same author

7 - better than average, would definitely read this author again
8 - Very good and enjoyable would look out for author again
9 – Very, very enjoyable, would recommend to others.
10 - Excellent, actively recommend to others

I'm usally pretty strict with this list. I read books in the order I get them, so the waiting list to be read is about a year :O I do move books about sometimes but not often!
