Recent Book Activity

I'm new to bookcrossing and I'm just getting my feet wet. I was a book collector until I ran out of shelf space and realized I hadn't read most of my books (due to lack of time to read). So I decided to collect only my very favorite authors and get rid of the rest of my books. It is a shame that I didn't find out about bookcrossing sooner! At this point I don't have many books outside of my private collection. And it seems silly to register books from my private collection if I'm not willing to share, so I don't. Basically I collect Dean Koontz, Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, Lois McMaster Bujold, and Tony Hillerman. However, I read many other authors. And I've found that the thrill of collecting is in the hunt, not the "keeping it on the bookshelf". So the books that you find on my bookshelf are all books that I have deliberately gotten to share with others. That said, I don't have much money for shipping, so I probably won't be trading very often (my apologies). Also, my city needs more bookcrossers and I intend to change that via wild releases. Now that I'm out of school and have more time to read (more free time and while communting on public transportation), I hope to read and release a lot more! And if I start trading or actually catch a book, rest assured that those books will not end up stuck in my private collection. My wish list (Thanks Cliff!) contains books that I'd like to have in my permanent collection, but I'd be happy to read and release them too. Thanks for stopping by!
