I love reading and one of my favorite things in life is sitting on the patio listening to the birds, with a glass of iced tea and a good book. Reading has enriched my life in many ways, so my hope for children everywhere is that they will also discover the world of books. To promote literacy (and just because I enjoy it), I volunteer as a one-on-one reading tutor for second and third graders at a neighborhood school, and I'm a friend of my local library. Other interests include my three cats, browsing antique shops, cross-stitching, playing the piano, going to the theater, and watching "my Padres" play baseball. I'm a frequent traveler and collect bookmarks and souvenir spoons from places I've been. If you see anything on my available bookshelf that interests you, let me know - - we might be able to arrange a trade, especially if you have a book on my wish list. My husband and I are out of town quite often, however, so if you don't get an immediate response to a PM, please be patient. As much as I'm tempted, I don't participate in bookrings or bookrays - - I'm never sure when I'll be able to get to a book, and I hate the thought of someone else wanting it while it sits at the post office waiting for me to return to town. |
All the people on my friends list are bookcrossers who have sent me RABCKs or have followed through with their end of the bargain in arranging a trade.
