Live in Santa Maria, California (and have lived in California off and on since 1949) and write books - non-fiction and fiction - as well as travel related magazine articles and radio commentary in GERMAN for German consumption. Strange but true -- my books can be found under tables, next to bushes and in amazon.de and/or German book stores. I have loved books since becoming a ravenous reader around the age of four (which would have been in late 1945 in Germany ... an age and place that would have made anyone a willing escapist) and am still amazed that I can now even write them. My newest, a novel called "Geier" was released by Knaur Taschenbuch in September of 2003, and (ab hier geht's deutsch weiter) ein neues, Arbeitstitel Geier II, ist fast fertig. Da ich seit meiner Kindheit Kalifornier bin, handeln meine Bücher im Westküstenstaat - bisher, jedenfalls. Da ich einige Jahrzehnte als Rockmoderator im hiesigen Rundfunk verbrachte, sind meine Protagonisten Rockmoderatoren. Und weil ich auf Deutsch schreibe, bin ich ein gewaltiger Konsument neuester Wörterbücher und flippiger, frischer deutscher Literatur.
