On Reading and life
I love to read just about any and everything. Being born with a rare genetic condition which causes my bones to break fairly easily I learned at a young age to enjoy reading as it allowed me to "do" things I was otherwise unable to do, it took me to places I would never get to visit, and to experience things I would other wise not be able to. In the winter time I tend to hibernate after work and on weekends and devour books. For many years I did not read popular fiction, but now I am catching up. In the warm weather one can usually find me puttering arround outside enjoying my other passion, gardening. My taste in gardening is often as eclectic as my reading list! Most of my reading/gardening time is shared with my 2 dogs, Max, our big laid back old man (part Lab, Shepherd, collie, etc) and my ornery little snuggle Pug Rocco. By day I am a social service employee, and quite often need a way to leave the real world behind. I am happy to rabck or to trade. If you see something on my list that interests you please let me know and I will be happy to send it to you. If it is on my TBR list however it may take a while. Please browse and Pm me if you like! I am listed on RABCK.com and the address will be current for a very long time.
I also trade books at:
bookmooch.com as mlsharif
and have wish lists there as well :)
My Wish List
would love any holistic Vet books, ethnic cook books, baking books etc.
Thanks to all who have commented on my pug pictures :) Admittedly not all are Rocco, but they are all adorable!
I have enjoyed participating in Bookrings for the first time in 2007 and started my first one this past year as well. For 2008 my goal is to host a bookring or to participate in a bookring each month and to become more active in bookcrossing as well.
Please note it appears that I have not been receiving some pm's lately. If I don't respond in a day or two please try again or post an ISO in the wishlist or bookring forum as I check there every couple of days.
My current bookrings
Alone in the Kitchen With an Eggplant bookring
Devil's Picnic bookring
