Extended Profile
I'm a book lover based in the North of Norway. My favourites "passe-temps" are literature, studying languages, the internet, music and the joy of good books, once again. The genius of bookcrossing: I love the idea of sharing a good read with others in order to double the joy of it, and the magic of seeing books travelling on their very own to a future reader.

I discovered at an early age the magic world of books, and I still feel that the definition of a GOOD book is one that leaves me as a slightly altered person in some way or another after reading it. I love to read books where people seem to come alive through the narration, books that make me fly, books that know how to mix laugh and serious matters, knowing that they are two sides of the same thing,
books that make me travel in senses and spirit. I love to have books around me as old friends, and I love to collect them. But the thought of sharing books with others appeals to me as well. Feel free to check my bookshelf, I will register more books there over time.

I read books in Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, English, French and Italian

"Twenty years from now
you will be more disappointed
by the things you didn't do
than by the ones you did do.
So throw off the bowlines.
Sail away from the safe harbor.
Catch the trade winds in your sails.
Explore.
Dream.
Discover."
-- Mark Twain

La lettura è, alla fine,
l'oggetto di una condivisione.
Ma una condivisione lungamente differita,
e tenacemente selettiva ...
Amare vuol dire, in ultima analisi,
far dono delle nostre preferenze
a coloro che preferiamo.
E queste preferenze condivise
popolano l'invisibile cittadella della nostra libertÜ.
Noi siamo abitati da libri e da amici.
...

Il tempo per leggere è sempre tempo rubato.
(Come il tempo per scrivere, d'altronde,
o il tempo per amare.)
Rubato a cosa?
Diciamo, al dovere di vivere ...
Il tempo per leggere, come il tempo per amare,
dilata il tempo per vivere.

DANIEL PENNAC, Come un romanzo
