I am an artist who loves to dabble. I paint, sculpt, throw pottery, and make crafts. I also like to build things and love the smell and feel of wood. I could spend hours in a hardware store...or in a card shop.
I read anything and everything except horror (though I did read some Steven King). I do not like to be grossed out but can tolerate it if it is integral to the story (Black Hawk Down).
My favorites are historical novels like the John Jakes series or cultural studies like Toni Morrison's Song of Solomon.
I also like mysteries and I like the good guy to win.
My favorite book store ever is Twice Told Tales, a second-hand bookstore in Seattle, Washington which is so welcoming that I can peruse books in comfort while making my decisions--I can never afford all the books I want.
