Please read between the coloured dots before PMing for books!

I work at Caesars Windsor, which takes away from my reading time, but allows me to pay for my habit, so it works out. I love to read just about anything, although I've never been into Science Fiction. I prefer Mystery, True Crime, Military History (usually WWII and Vietnam-era), and Legal Fiction. Every now and then I've been known to read Chick Lit, but no Harlequin, please! :-) My goal is to read at least the same number of books this year as I did in 2006: 95. I've got some doorstoppers on my TBR list this year, so we'll see how it goes.

Allergy Alert!

Allergy alert!
My books share space with 2 kitties who aren't afraid to shed copious amounts of hair. If you're allergic to cat hair, PLEASE let me know, and I will do my best to make sure they don't send any keepsakes along with my books!

I hate to have to put this on my own personal space, but some recurring squabbling on the fora over what BookCrossing is has made this an unfortunate necessity. So here it is:

My Personal BookCrossing Policy
Sometimes I trade, sometimes I don't. My default is that I prefer to "wild release". Trading is an opt-in thing for me, on a case-by-case basis.

* I don't respond to unsolicited book requests from people I don't already "know". (I don't consider a request for a trade to be an unsolicited request - that would be "Can you send me X book?")
* I don't do multiple requests - as in, "Send me 2 (or 10) books please".
* I don't send books to people who have no books on their bookshelf.
* I do join rings & rays, and if you think I'd be interested in joining one of yours, thank you in advance for thinking of me - don't be afraid to drop me a PM to see if I'd like to join.

When I do engage in trades, I'm willing to ship within Canada and the US, and I'm willing to ship globally on a limited basis, funds permitting.

Book Status - my explanation
AVL - I've read it, and I have no plans for it at this time. I might wild-release it, I might not. I might trade it, I might not. I might be looking for someone to bestow an RABCK on. If it is not marked 'AVL' *by me*, then I do not have it.
PC - Permanent Collection. Unless I have an established relationship with you, these aren't going anywhere.
RES - Reserved. These are waiting for something, like a release challenge, or have been put aside for a specific purpose.
TBR - To Be Read. I will not move it to the top of the pile so you can have it faster. I read in no particular order, and whatever grabs my attention gets read first. Some may languish here for months. Too bad. If it is not marked 'TBR' *by me*, then I do not have it.

We now return you to our regularly scheduled bookshelf....
