In November 2008 I entered a challenge on the website www.nanowrimo.org to write a 50,000 word novel in a month. After an enthusiastic first week, all motivation left me and I never finished or even went back to that novel.
I decided that my punishment for not living up to the nanowrimo challenge was to force myself to read more books. While this was initially a form of punishment it actually re-awakened my love of reading! So now I see it as more of a gift to myself.
I found out about this website from a work college and think the concept is fantastic. I'm looking forward to becoming an active member here.
