Hi, and welcome to my BookCrossing Bookshelf. I love this site - I've been an avid reader as long as I can remember, and have a library of hundreds and hundreds of books. From time to time, though, I need to thin the ranks a bit, but had trouble figuring
out just what to do with those books that I don't think I'll ever read again. Until I discovered BC. Now I know exactly what to do with my books! :-)
I made my first release on Friday, 27 February, 2004. Since then, books I've released have travelled to 37 U.S. states (Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts,
Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia and Wisconsin) as well
as to Australia, Canada, Egypt, Finland, France, Germany, India, Japan, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.

I've read most of the books I release, but not all of them - I often buy books when I see them at a good price (library sales ROCK), and if I haven't read a book before releasing it, I'll make a note of that in the entry. I also buy duplicate copies of my favourites
to release, because it makes me happy. :-) Also, all of the books listed in my "released in the wild" stat are GENUINE wild releases. This number does NOT include books that I have given to friends or mailed to other BookCrossers. Yes, I really have released
that many books directly into the wild. :D
Since I don't read everything I release, and I also read lots that I don't register (I'm a regular at my library), the best way to get an idea of my reading preferences is to have a peek at my LibraryThing shelf (my "home page" linked above), where I've listed
all the books I can remember reading, along with reviews of every single one of them.
Most of the "catches" listed for me here are books I've given or sent to people, I've decided to keep a list here of my honest-to-goodness Wild Catches. It's getting a bit long, so I moved the list over to my LiveJournal. You'll find that list (as well as the
list of books I've personally caught in the wild)
here. (69 wild catches, as of 10 January, 2006).
I have a wish list
here.
