This is the bookshelf formerly known as petsnpeople

After 2 1/2 years living in New Orleans, I have moved back to Crystal Springs, MS.

Besides Bookcrossing, I also trade on paperbackswap.com, my PBS bookshelf. I manage to keep all my piles separated. ; )

If you go to New Orleans, you might want to know about these places:

Releasing in New Orleans

1. Cafe Luna, corner of Magazine and Nashville
2. Ugly Dog Saloon and BBQ, corner of Andrew Higgins and Tchoupitoulas (When you enter look right and up to see shelves
3. Z'otz, the trading shelves on in the "second room" up some little steps. Enjoy the coffee and a vegan treat there.

Buy a book in New Orleans - My personal fave

McKeown's Books on Tchoupitoulas has a pleasant atmosphere and free events. There is a new section for history/sociology/social studies.

Buy a book at a Thrift Store in New Orleans

The Bridge House thrift store supporting rehabilitation of drug-addicted men usually has an excellent supply of recently published books, as well as, oldies-but-goodies. It is located on Camp Street on the west side of the Hwy 90 overpass.

Visit a large box bookstore

New Orleans is not particularly friendly (me included) to large box stores or chain stores, but Borders did bring new life to a funeral home on St. Charles Ave. (Confederacy President Jefferson Davis laid in state there.) You can take the St. Charles Streetcar to the Borders at 3338 St. Charles.
