Hello fellow oddballs! BookCrossing is my guilty secret -- I don't talk about it to most people because I have a feeling they wouldn't understand. That's ok; I can come here and everyone understands!

I first joined BookCrossing after reading an article in the Globe & Mail and immediately thought, "That's for me!" Initially, it was just the cool idea of wild releasing that drew me in; now, I've discovered all the *other* fun aspects of this site and that just makes it even more interesting! It's also a good way for me to get rid of the mountains of books I've collected over the years -- as a former English major, I've piled up quite a stack - plus, I've been reading since I was about 3 years old (thanks, Mom!).

I'm on a quest to read every book ever shortlisted for the Booker Prize. Madness? Only time will tell...

Here's what I've read:

Favourite authors: Iris Murdoch, Margaret Drabble, Doris Lessing, Ursula LeGuin, Ruth Rendell/Barbara Vine, Virginia Woolf, Ernest Hemingway, Timothy Findley, Margaret Laurence, Margaret Atwood, Fay Weldon, Ian McEwan, Agatha Christie, Julian Barnes, Carol Shields, Robertson Davies, A.S. Byatt, Jane Urquhart, Stephen Fry...and I'm sure this list will grow over the years.

Look! I'm a Jane Austen heroine...

I believe you belong in Pride and Prejudice; a world of satire and true love. A world where everything is crystal clear to the reader, and yet where new things seem to be happening all the time. You belong in a world where your free-thought puts you above the silly masses, and where bright eyes and intelligence are enough to attract the arrogant millionaire of your choice.

At this time, I am not interested in doing any trading. Please don't contact me regarding any trades; I will not respond. Thanks.

I'd also like to ask folks to not send me any RABCKs at this time. It's awfully kind of you, but I'm trying to reduce my TBRs and free up some room on my overcrowded bookshelves! Thank you.

However, if you're starting a bookring with a book that's on my wish list, please feel free to contact me!
