Extended Profile
I read mostly "unknown" authors now. Reading submissions for our Free-Fiction site fills most of my available reading time lately. I've been privileged to read, and work on editing and compiling, a number of extremely interesting novels and short story collections over the last year and a half. One of the best parts of the job!

I've noticed that each new book I work on becomes my "favorite" at the time. I truly love the books we pick for the site and can't recommend them highly enough to other readers. Since they are free, it really is an offer most visitors to our site can't resist :)

Though we're technically a commercial site, we're basically "non-profit" right now--meaning we haven't yet found the way to combine our dual focus on readers and writers into actual revenue. We're hoping our newest addition, a voluntary subscription service will work.

It's kind of difficult finding ways to combine free reading with author payment, but we have a great group of authors who believe in the future of epublishing and our different approach to it. If you want to know more about our site's philosophy, visit our About Us page.

Like many avid readers, I also write. I began the site as a personal author page after I came to grips with my disability-forced early retirement, but before I went live, it had developed into a full-fledged epublishing site when 3 long time writing buddies joined me and my grown son expressed a business interest in my rather different approach to epublishing. We are now a mother-son team who hosts the site entirely ourselves. I "wear a lot of hats," get tired frequently, but Free-Fiction has grown steadily since and we now have over 2 dozen authors in our group.

I am presently working on an historical novel, Xe Mapia, the life of Jesus as seen through the eyes of the women in his life, and the next two books in a feminist apocolyptic trilogy called Lilith's Revenge. Most of my writing (and previous reading choices) reflect my long time interest in religious studies, particularly in the relationships created by God, women and society.

I look forward to being a member of this site. Though I don't go out much, I do have a number of grown children who can free my books held hostage in boxes and bags and bookcases throughout our house, and find other freed treasures for me.
