Extended Profile
I enjoy reading and rereading and paging through books. Favorite authors include Nabokov, Kundera, Borges, Forché, Morrison, Austen, and Joyce. Favorite topics include multicultural studies, historical and modern religions, hermeneutics of religious studies
and religious experience, moral psychology, France, the Dalai Lama, ethics, travel, and vegetarian cooking. Less favorite topics that I seek out nevertheless include international relations, French, and Gilbert and Sullivan.
I also enjoy fantasy and light sci-fi, particularly Tolkien, Robin McKinley, Mercedes Lackey, Robert Jordan, and (of course) J.K. Rowling. My favorite genre is the short story, and my favorite kind of book is the trade paperback. My least favorite kind of book
is the weirdly light giant hardback. My least favorite book is Plato's Complete Works, but that's only the result of the trauma of carrying it around for a full year to classes.
I just moved and emptied my bookshelf. Hopefully I'll be able to add books again soon!
