Hello,
I am a high school English teacher, and I absolutely love literature--reading it, discussing it, and analyzing it. My favorite book has to be The Color Purple, but To Kill A Mockingbird is a close second. And no matter the novel/play/poem, teaching literature is the ultimate high. It is amazing to see how my students react to the unraveling of Romeo and Juliet, the savagery of Lord of the Flies, or the realization that the same ideas/themes/concepts that they read and learn about still apply in today's world. I enjoy all sorts of literature, although I've yet to embrace Sci-Fi. Maybe some day. I also enjoy writing; I've written some short stories, a few essays, and even dabbled with some poetry. I would love to write a novel some day, but the thought of it terrifies me. But hey, who knows!
